Hey there a couple things you can try.... try putting the pills behind your front teeth under your tongue so u wont taste them. I found taking pills with milk helps because of the thickness of the milk...helps the pills go down smoother and coats your throat. Another trick you could try is to tilt your head down when taking the pills. If you think about it most people tilt their head back which causes the airway to constrict somewhat. If you tilt you head forward leaves things wide open. K maybe that was too many ideas but maybe one will help you out. take care, hope everything else is going well with you!!

I have the same problem with my prenatals! They make me gag...or worse. I now cut them in half every time so they go down easier. I also never take them with water. A stronger drink (milk or juice) hides the smell and taste a lot better!

I know it's not the best advice, but I threw up my pills whole no matter when or how I ate them, so I didn't take them. I was anaemic most of my pregnancy, but she turned out healthy and happy. But you might try taking meclizine (you just get it at the pharmacy counter without a prescription). It makes you not as sick and it might help with the pills.

Whit, this may be way outdated cause you know the source but could you break them into small pieces and dissolve them in some liquid that you can tolerate...coke or something like that? good luck with everything!

Holy crap, Whit - it sounds like we have the same type of pregnancies! I was anemic, too and I tried so hard to take my iron pills, but I ALWAYS threw them up, so I quit taking them because my theory was the baby feels what I feel and if I feel more sick from taking the pills than not taking them, that's the better course - a totally rationalization, I realize, but it made me feel better! Anyway, I have always been anemic and you can research foods that have a good source of iron to help your blood cell count go up. All I remember right off the top of my head is red meats. And if you choose to continue taking the pills, when I was at my worst in my pregnancy with Brig, I took a B6 vitamin with half a unisom sleeping tablet (I checked with my doc and he said those are totally fine to take). Anyway, I would take that combination at night and I would seriously feel SO much better in the mornings. I bet you are getting bored with reading my novel, but hey, you asked! :) I am keeping you in my prayers!

Yay! I'm excited you guys are going to Delta for Thanksgiving! Josh and I were really wanting to have Thanksgiving here at our home, but both our families poo-pooed on it, so we hesitantly folded on the matter a couple of weeks ago, but now that I know you guys are coming, I'm way psyched! K, I just read this comment and it sounds like I hate my family or something - totally don't, we really wanted to do Black Friday shopping down here this year, but now aren't, that's all it was. :) I'm glad I cleared that up. Hey, I don't eat alot of red meats either, but when I was pregnant with Brig, I craved AND ate a burger and fries EVERY DAY! Miraculously, Brig took all of that food because I lost all of my preg. weight when he was born! Seriously crazy.

I wish I knew some tricks sweetie! I guess... one tip is eat lots of healthy food if the pills dont work. They didnt have pills long long time ago right? :) Anyway, I hope you start feeling better soon. This last pregnancy was no fun for me with the heat and hormones and ... I could go on! Anyway, I feel ya woman! Good luck!

Hey-- that sucks, but I totally remember being that way. I couldn't keep anything down, let alone prenatals! Plus they're gross. My doctor gave me some that were sugar coated so they actually tasted good for a couple seconds before I could swallow them. I agree with the juice trick. That's the only way to get nasty pills down for me. Also, my sis-in-law's doc gave her anti-nausea pills that seemed to help her. I'm going to ask for those next time. The bad thing is though, that I heard they're pretty pricey. If all else fails, teach Holden to play cows and ducks and that's bound to make you forget about being sick! So excited for you!

Try smashing them up into a powder and then adding a little bit here and there to your food. Mix it up really well, and hopefully you won't smell it or taste it when it's in your food. I'll smash those nasty suckers up, so you don't have to smell them. I really do feel terrible that you have been so sick. You have been a trooper though. You are amazing. Give me a call, would you?! I hate it when your phone doesn't work.

No advice. Sorry. Although the smashing up idea sounds brilliant to me. I'd give that a try. I'm always anemic(?) too. And those pills are super big I know. Good luck. I can't believe you are already three months. Goes by fast.

Whit - I had a really hard time with iron pills too. I didn't with prenatals. I would just recommend taking them with food in the morning - and I know this sounds weird - but take them with pickles - or pickle juice. Seriously. =)

I can't wait for the lil peanut!!

Hey did the bread help? My sister says banana's really helped the stomach. I thought that I would make the bread to see if it would help. She was on IV's for several months with her last pregnancy. We were ready when ever you are to play Settlers!! Hope you feel better
